In this article, we put the spotlight on Romania, the country in southeastern Europe, also known as a homeland of Dracula. Romania is much more than just the history of Dracula: it is a country rich in culture and history. It is home to 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites: medieval castles, fortified churches, and primeval beech forests. Romania is also an amazing country for young people, who look for authentic experiences of living and studying in some of Europe’s most vibrant and eclectic student cities.

Majorel in Romania: History & Key Figures

In 2010, Majorel Romania started out as a pilot project, having one office in Brasov and a small local team of 27 employees. Throughout the years, our team has been growing significantly and now, with more than 2140 employees, we operate in four cities in Romania: Bucharest, Brașov, Sibiu, and Cluj-Napoca. Our colleagues in Romania deliver customer support, tech support, and content moderation services in 23 languages for some of the world’s leading brands.  Just recently, our company was recognized as the Best Romanian Customer Center and, also, received four important awards at the Romanian Business Services Forum & Awards. The most noteworthy award among them, the Employer of the Year, certifies the best practices in the Human Resources process: attractive salary package, employee benefits, trainings and wellbeing initiatives, employee development programs, and others.

Corporate Responsibility Actions Across Romania

Understanding Majorel’s four-pillar approach to Corporate Responsibility as a priority, our colleagues in Romania continue to come up with countless initiatives for the wellbeing of our community and the environment. Recently, in Brasov, they have founded the Majorel Community Garden. It’s an educational hub – a 1600 sqm courtyard, dedicated to educational events such as workshops, discussions, thematic camps, natural science and arts classes, games, among others. In short, the Majorel Community Garden allows children of different age groups to form a community and get hands-on learning experiences from professionals in German and Romanian. The main goal of this initiative is to connect, to inspire, and to boost creativity within young people and to foster an inclusive community environment where adults and children take on projects together.

Helping others in times of need has always been a core value for Majorel’s employees. In Romania, one of the countries with the highest number of Ukrainian refugees, our colleagues have collected funds and urgent supplies and donated them to people in need. The amount collected from the employee charity has been topped up by our company and donated to the local NGO, which assists the most vulnerable people across the country in times of disasters and crises. For this good cause, our company has also donated to the Red Cross in Romania.
